Reading Give It A Shot - Calgary Flames, TEPF & Corporate Supporters

Reading Give It A Shot is a reading program in partnership with the Calgary Flames, The Education Partnership Foundation and other corporate supporters. Children from grade 1 and grade 6 earn Canadian Wildlife, Species at Risk and/or hockey cards for the reading minutes, giving them even more incentive to develop their skills. Every year one lucky school gets a visit from Calgary Flames players and Flames mascot Harvey the Hound. Reading...Give It A Shot registration is open for the School year!
Donations and Support for those in need - Ascension Parish SSVP

The Ascension Conference for the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul at Ascension Catholic Church has many initiatives throughout the year, such as food and gift card drives within designated schools, grocery purchases for our Hamper Room, cash donations, the annual Angel Tree program, and the purchase of Knights of Columbus gift cards, all contribute to their ability to serve those in need. All donations are gratefully accepted. No donation is too small.

Annual Backpack Giveaway for children - Owen Hart Foundation

On Saturday August 28th, 2021 – The Owen Hart Foundation happily presented their annual “OHF Backpacks Giveaway for the Community”. This initiative helped families provide backpacks, school supplies, and additional much needed items for their children in the upcoming school year.
The OHF partnered with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation for the OHF Backpack Giveaway 2021. Providing a total of 675 backpacks to all students at Holy Trinity School and 500 backpacks to the general public.
OHF accepts donations throughout the year for all their many initiatives.

Dyslexia Canada Programs
Year Round
Dyslexia Canada is a national charity dedicated to a change for children with dyslexia in Canada. Year round, Dyslexia Canada offers programs to provide tools and resources for children, parents and teachers. Dyslexia Awareness Month is in October. Stay tuned for more information.
